BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (RIM) will launch the smaller version of its PlayBook tablet PC tomorrow, says a Daily Mail report.More tablets here.
In an attempt to give rival Apple’s bestselling iPad a run for its money, the Canadian technology giant will bring out PlayBook’s seven-inch screen model, noticeably smaller than Apple's iPad2 9.7 inches screen.
The Daily Mail report said the £399 model will go on sale exclusively at Selfridges at 9.30am on Thursday.
Luke Peters, editor of T3 magazine was quoted by Daily Mail as saying that the smaller size of the new PlayBook makes it ‘one of the few tablets that has clear, attractive differentiation from the iPad’.
However, he added that it will still be difficult for the new gadget to compete with the huge number of apps-more than 65,000 on last count- on the market for Apple’s tablet.
